Each year for the past thirteen years, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Legal Reform has released a Lawsuit Climate Survey. This year’s 2015 Lawsuit Climate Survey: Ranking the States has just been released and is causing a stir in public justice for its anti-judicial propaganda.
The survey of 1,203 litigators and executives in corporate America sheds some light on how they view their treatment by the state court systems.
- Lawyers for big business are increasingly giving state courts a higher score. This year corporate America attorneys gave state courts a score of 61.7
- More than half of lawyers surveyed said that state court liability systems were “excellent or pretty good.”
- When asked to rate state court systems on an A to F basis, 90% of state courts received passing grades from the surveyed lawyers.
The survey results clearly show that although corporate America lawyers complain about being treated unjustly in the legal system, they obviously get more than fair treatment by our state courts.
