Romano Law Group environmental office building attracts interest of local Congressmen
[WEST PALM BEACH, FL, September 18, 2007 --] John Romano of Romano Law Group in West Palm Beach recently hosted Congressman Tim Mahoney and Congressman Ron Klein on a tour of the firm’s new environmentally responsible office building, EcoCentre, the Living Building, located in Lake Worth. When it opens in the spring of 2008, EcoCentre will be the Florida’s first office building of its kind -- a 33,000 gross sq. ft., four-story structure incorporating natural ”living” systems and “green” technologies designed to save energy, reduce CO2 emissions, water consumption and create an overall healthier environment. The project is registered with the Green Building Council and seeking Gold L.E.E.D. certification, a procedure demonstrating that the project has been planned, designed and completed with a primary goal of environmental enhancement.
The Congressmen visited the building to highlight the potential of alternative energy and call attention to federal efforts to reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil. Congressman Mahoney said, “I commend EcoCenter’s innovative use of renewable energy. Florida has a tremendous opportunity to be a leader in production and use of alternative fuels and renewable energy. We are fortunate to have this cutting-edge building right here in our community.”
Taking part in the tour that day were John Romano, Romano Law Group; Congressman Tim Mahoney; Mike Little of Hedrick Brothers Construction; Congressman Ron Klein and EcoCentre architect, John Szerdi, of Living Designs Group.
