The History – And Soul – Of Our Firm
When you turn on the TV today, you will see television commercials for dozens of personal injury lawyers wanting to handle your case. The message of these commercials is very familiar – the attorney will work hard and will aggressively pursue your case, with "no fee unless we get money for you". Obviously, it's difficult to evaluate a law firm based on a television commercial.
Adding to the complexity is the fact that approximately 80,000 attorneys practice law in Florida, with 4,000 of these attorneys based in Palm Beach County. With the sheer number of attorneys, how do you pick the right one?

After serving as an attorney in the office of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the U.S. Marine Corp., John Romano embarked on a career in private practice with the prominent West Palm Beach law firm of Cone, Wagner and Nugent, which was established in the 1950's.
For more than three decades, Cone, Wagner and Nugent was a leading litigation firm in Florida, and it had a large and lasting impact on Florida's legal landscape. Many of the firm’s attorneys went on to become judges, including Fred Hazouri and Larry Klein of the 4th District Court of Appeals, and Barbara Pariente and Jorge Labarga, who both serve on the Florida Supreme Court. In 1991, John Romano and his younger brother, Rodney, along with partners Mike Eriksen and Joel Cronin, M.D., left the Cone, Wagner and Nugent firm and established the law firm of Romano, Eriksen and Cronin, which focused on Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Wrongful Death, and Product Liability cases. In 2007, the firm reorganized and became the Romano Law Group.
